California Is All About Livin' The Dream

Visit California’s newly launched TV spot features celebrities Living the Dream across the Golden State

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Feb. 6, 2017) – “They say Californians are livin’ the dream” opens Visit California’s newest TV spot, debuting across the U.S. and Canada today. The commercial features an all-star cast including actress Anna Faris; basketball legend Magic Johnson; actor and comedian George Lopez; Michelin three-starred chef Corey Lee; Olympian Gabby Reece and husband big-wave surfer Laird Hamilton; and Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson, the first rock climbers to free climb El Capitan’s Dawn Wall in Yosemite National Park.

“The California Dream means different things to different people,” said Caroline Beteta, Visit California president and CEO. “This spot showcases why our state’s diversity is second to none — from our epic landscapes, extreme adventures to unparalleled luxury and culinary indulgences to our ‘everybody is welcome culture’ — and these California dreamers prove anything is possible in the Golden State.”

“Living the Dream” continues the tradition of showcasing California’s fun-loving, free-spirited vibe and encourages travelers to visit California for their next dream vacation – whether that entails skiing in the High Sierras, surfing along the coast, or enjoying a laidback retreat in wine country. The spot will run from Feb. 6 through April 24, 2017 concurrently with Visit California’s new family-focused spot, “Welcome to Kidifornia.”
