As a destination marketing organization, Visit California prides itself on being an industry champion in digital marketing. The Digital Influencer Advisory Board was created to uphold this standard, by collaborating with its members to refine best practices for working with influencers, set benchmarks for tracking ROI with influencer marketing, and create long-term partnerships with leading travel and lifestyle digital influencers.
“Visit California recognizes that the industry’s leading digital influencers are masters of a diverse skillset: they are talented content creators, savvy entrepreneurs and curators of highly engaged audiences,” said Visit California President and CEO Caroline Beteta. “We are thrilled to share the wonders of California with these thought leaders, creating true ambassadors for our partners throughout the Golden State.”
Visit California invited the below six channels, for a total of eight digital content creators, to participate in the inaugural Digital Influencer Advisory Board. The board represents a diverse range of expertise and strengths across major social platforms including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and blogging, with members including:
Shut Up and Go Travel – Damon Dominique and Joanna Franco
The Planet D – Dave Bouskill and Debra Corbeil
Cheat Day Eats – Jessica Hirsch
Mr. Scott Eddy – Scott Eddy
Travel Break – Stephanie Buelna
Must Do Travels – Steven Kennif
The Digital Advisory Board formally commenced on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, with a meeting in Sacramento, California. Since then, the advisory board has participated in Visit California’s crisis response following recent natural disasters, leading digital content creation to communicate that the destination is open for business. Content partnerships with advisory board members have supported Visit California’s campaigns including California Restaurant Month and Catch The Winter Wave.
The next formal meeting of the advisory board is set to take place on April 25 in Santa Barbara, California.
