Visit California Launches California Plaza at IPW 2019

May 20, 2019

ANAHEIM, Calif. (May 1, 2019) - Visit California is taking over the main plaza leading into the Anaheim Convention Center for the duration of IPW 2019. A first of its kind activation for IPW, the “California Plaza” will be a multi-sensory California lifestyle experience, featuring destination activations, interactive events, food and drinks, and shareable only-in-California photo moments.

California Plaza, located outside the Anaheim Convention Center just steps away from the Hilton and Marriott Hotels, will provide a gathering space—morning, evening and late night. All IPW attendees are welcome to take advantage of the complimentary refreshments - from morning juices to late night libations - as well as activities like early morning yoga, and entertainment that will be offered daily before and after IPW appointments take place.

In honor of the state’s global reputation as the ultimate road trip destination and Visit California’s launch of the Road Trip Republic this January, the California Plaza build out will resemble the experience of a road trip through the state. Customized installations will feature seating areas, refreshments and photo ops.

Breakfast fare will be served daily, with regional libations and bites on the evening menus. The two late night “After Parties” will feature live music, night caps and sweet treats, including a special concert with singer Natasha Bedingfield during the last happy hour.

Each morning, the California Plaza will invite IPW attendees to experience The Golden State of Wellness. The group-fitness class line-up includes a Daybreaker dance party, spinning class and yoga. DFS will curate a beauty bar and the California Dreaming Apothecary will feature an aromatic journey presented by P.F. Candle Co., energy healing and a hemp product showcase.

In addition to enjoying the California Plaza festivities, attendees will have the chance to redeem vouchers for free, locally sourced merch and surprises at a “California Love Pop-Up Shop,” stocked with exclusive items. Each evening the California Plaza is open, premium travel prizes will be given away through the “Lucky in California Love” business card draw.

Visit California is proud to be working with destination partners across the state to bring California Plaza to life, including Anaheim Convention & Visitors Bureau, California’s High Sierra, Citadel Outlets, DFS Group, Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau, Los Angeles Tourism Convention & Visitors Bureau, Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau, San Diego Tourism Authority, San Francisco Travel, Sonoma County Tourism, Ventura County Coast, Visit Mammoth Lakes, Visit SLO CAL and Visit Santa Barbara.

Additional details on California Plaza, including hours, are available on the Visit California Industry Website, with schedules and additional details to come.
