Skunk Train Brings California Flavors to the Redwoods with New Kitchen Car

The Skunk Train has transformed a historic boxcar at Glen Blair Junction into a new Kitchen Car, bringing a fresh culinary experience deep into Mendocino County’s redwoods. The menu centers on California Rice Bowls made with locally inspired flavors and ingredients, including Steelhead with yuzu basil, Chicken with honey-teriyaki and Tofu with tahini. Guests can enjoy their meal surrounded by towering redwoods during select Skunk Train and Railbike excursions from Fort Bragg. The project gives new purpose to a piece of railroad history while expanding the experience at Glen Blair Junction beyond the journey itself. With a menu designed to reflect California’s fresh, diverse culinary identity, the Kitchen Car adds an unexpected food destination along one of the state’s most historic railroads.
