Maleza Costa Mesa opens at The Camp in Orange County

Maleza, the modern Mexican kitchen and mezcal bar born inside Drift Palm Springs, has come into its own with its first standalone restaurant, which opened at the Camp in Costa Mesa on Sept. 12 for dinner service, with full lunch and dinner hours starting Sept. 25. For Irvine-based owner and operator TMC Hospitality, the opening marks a return to the company’s own backyard, with executive chef Marco Arreguín leading the kitchen. Since opening in 2023, Maleza Palm Springs has earned recognition from the Los Angeles Times and Food & Wine. The Costa Mesa location builds on that foundation with new dishes and cocktails developed specifically for this opening.
