KANOK Thai brings warm, home-style flavors to Solvang

One of Solvang’s historic hospitality buildings is now home to KANOK Thai, a new restaurant rooted in tradition, comfort and cultural storytelling. Founded by restaurateur Preaw Chamchoi, KANOK continues a journey that began 15 years ago in Santa Barbara with a small, eight-table Thai restaurant built on passion and community. Now in Solvang, the restaurant stays true to its original mission, serving approachable, comforting Thai dishes at friendly prices in a space designed to feel like a welcoming home. Decor and handmade elements sent from Thailand reflect the meaning of the name KANOK, which translates to “gold,” and embody a sense of warmth, joy and hospitality.
