Visit California Partners with CAMP to Launch Family-Friendly Experience on New York’s Legendary 5th Avenue

California’s diverse offerings on display through an immersive and interactive kid-focused activation, running through April 30

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (March 3, 2022) – As New Yorkers navigate another frigid winter in the Big Apple, Visit California has partnered with CAMP, The Family Experience Company, to offer a glimmer of sunshine from the Golden State filled with activities, a celebrity chef event and a chance to win a family vacation to California.

Now open, CAMP’s 5th Avenue flagship location has transformed into a mini-California getaway showcasing the state’s robust offerings, from delicious culinary delights to breathtaking scenery, along with inspiration for planning a California family getaway. The two-month experience will be the ultimate destination for families seeking a bit of an escape from the dreary days of winter.

Families stepping off of 5th Avenue and into CAMP will encounter a West Coast-styled “California Cafe” filled with healthy Golden State snacks and California-inspired ice cream flavors like Yose-MintyVanil-LA-LA-LandCocoafornia and more.

On March 11, beloved Food Network celebrity chef and Los Angeles native Jet Tila will host a special event for families with crafts, snacks and Jet’s custom-created sushi roll made just for CAMP featuring fresh ingredients from California.

In addition to the Food Network star-power, Visit California and CAMP have partnered with the California-based Sunnie brand and its co-founders, Katy Tucker and Lisette Howard, to offer busy NYC families a complimentary Sunnie Taco Dipper with fresh guacamole, shredded mozzarella and cassava flaxseed crackers – it’s soooo California.

Beyond the magic door, families will encounter a redwood forest in the middle of NYC, a place for kids to zoom around a skateboard track, and discover secret California landmarks hidden throughout the store.

On top of a magical experience in the heart of NYC, families can enter to win a dream trip for four to explore California through a sweepstakes, available online or in-store.
