Get a Taste of the Golden State During 10th Annual California Restaurant Month

Enjoy special culinary experiences and promotional pricing throughout January

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Dec. 19, 2019) – California invites visitors and locals alike to sip and savor their way through the state’s iconic culinary scene throughout the month of January, in celebration of the 10th annual California Restaurant Month.

Nearly 40 destinations are participating in California Restaurant Month, serving up endless opportunities for culinary adventures including immersive food experiences, prix fixe menus and special events.

“California’s agricultural bounty, talented chefs and Michelin-recognized restaurants have earned the state worldwide renown,” Visit California President and CEO Caroline Beteta said. “January is the perfect time to experience this abundance firsthand, as the innovative and diverse nature of the state’s culinary scene is on full display.”

During California Restaurant Month, food-lovers can enjoy everything from sustainable seafood offerings in Monterey and perfect beverage pairings in Butte County to a mixology event in Alameda and unique kumquat-inspired dishes in Santa Monica.

Alameda Restaurant Week
January 16-26

Alameda Restaurant Week is back for its third year! More than 40 participating restaurants and bars will showcase their culinary delights by offering prix fixe menus and specials. When guests dine at any participating restaurant or bar, they will receive a raffle card to be stamped. Once a card is fully stamped, diners will be entered to win over $1,300 in Alameda restaurant gift cards. Restaurant Week will kick off with a mixology event exhibiting Alameda's premier bartenders and local cuisine, where one bartender will receive the title of Master Mixologist.

Berkeley Restaurant Week
January 21-31

The 8th annual Berkeley Restaurant Week (#BRW20) features a diverse range of restaurants that share Berkeley’s Cali-cuisine legacy. With more than 350 restaurants city-wide, there’s an amazing array of dining options ranging from casual to candlelit. Independent, family-run ranches and farms produce almost everything a chef could dream of within double-digit miles from the center of the city. Place your finger on the Berkeley map, and chances are there is something tasty, local and organic on the block. Cuisines from across the world are served with authentic style in Berkeley. 

Butte County Restaurant Week - Perfect Pairings
January 17-26

During Butte County Restaurant Week, all participating restaurants will offer a unique food and/or drink pairing that diners wouldn’t ordinarily be able to enjoy. The “perfect pairings” will be each restaurant's take on what makes Butte County food unique. Visitors will have access to prixe fixe menu options for brunch, lunch and dinner throughout the entire week, making Restaurant Week a great opportunity for people to experience new restaurants or rediscover old favorites.

Calistoga Restaurant Week
January 16-February 1

The small town of Calistoga in Napa Valley might be better known for its wine and wellness scene, but the area is also worth a visit for its gastronomic offerings. With everything from sold-out culinary events like the annual Calistoga Harvest Table, to over-the-top scenic patio dining, Calistoga’s menus are notable for using locally-sourced ingredients and chefs who add a delicious twist on Napa Valley cuisine. During Calistoga Restaurant Week, guests will find special two- and three-course prix fixe menus at participating restaurants.

Carmel-by-the-Sea Culinary Week - "The Art of the Plate"
January 19-26

In its first year, "Art of the Plate" in Carmel-by-the-Sea allows food to come alive and connotes Carmel’s artistic heritage and beautiful culinary works of art through immersive food experiences, special prix fixe menus and exciting events. Carmel's chefs and restaurateurs will craft unforgettable dining experiences for the first annual Carmel-by-the-Sea Culinary Week. Guests will find new ways to enjoy "more restaurants in one-square-mile than in any other small U.S. city!"

Concord Comfort Food Week
January 17-26

Concord celebrates its third annual Comfort Food Week where once again, local restaurants will roll out their tastiest and most unique comfort-food fare along with tempting specials and discounts. This highly anticipated event draws foodies from all over the Bay Area and showcases Concord as a true destination for world-class dining. Join the Concord community as more than 40 restaurants come together to celebrate the local food scene at its best.

Conejo Valley Restaurant Week
January 24-31

Conejo Valley Restaurant Week will feature special deals, packages and/or dishes that highlight the very best of Conejo Valley. Special menus include two-course lunches and three-course dinners at a fixed price at restaurants of all types, from Asian cuisine to Italian.

Cupertino Restaurant Week
January 29-February 4

Cupertino Restaurant Week (#CupertinoRW) celebrates its first year by enabling locals and visitors to experience the food and wine culture that reflects the diversity of Cupertino. Through multi-course prix fixe menus, guests can try out the latest culinary hot-spots or revisit old favorites all week long. With food as innovative as its technology, Cupertino is an epicurean revelation and there’s no better time to enjoy it all than during Restaurant Week.

Dine Alhambra Restaurant Week 2020
January 24-31

Downtown Alhambra is holding its third annual Restaurant Week, recently renamed "Dine Alhambra Restaurant Week.” Restaurants will be offering two- and three-course prix-fixe menus upon request, priced anywhere from $15 – $30 for lunch, and $20 – $50 for dinner. The week-long celebration spotlights the amazing and diverse cuisines of Downtown Alhambra’s restaurant scene. Diners can enjoy everything from Italian to Peruvian cuisine, thanks to specials at participating eateries.

Dine Downtown
January 10-20

Sacramento is quickly becoming an industry leader in the fine dining scene, known as the Farm-to-Fork Capital of the world. In the midst of the city’s foodie fame, Dine Downtown returns to highlight the best fare on the grid. Come experience the city’s farm fresh fare at the 11-day restaurant week, where local chefs create special three-course dinner menus priced at $40. One dollar from every Dine Downtown meal is donated to the Food Literacy Center & Hope Cooperative.

Fork in the Road
January 1-31

Fork in the Road” is a celebration of the collection of culinary gems along the highways and byways of California's Gold Country. During the entire month of January, Fork in the Road will showcase El Dorado County’s hidden gems, giving travelers and locals the perfect opportunity to discover amazing cuisine, seasonal specialties, innovative chefs and unique experiences in places most people never knew existed.  The city is also introducing guided Culinary & Culture Tours in El Dorado Hills and Historic Main Street in Placerville, enabling people to taste delicious local cuisine and meet the restaurateurs and chefs behind the dishes.

The annual dineGPS will serve up a variety of unique culinary experiences including winemaker dinners, cooking classes and exciting events throughout the month.

Sweet & Savory
January 1-31

For the first year, the small mountain town of Julian in San Diego County will host Sweet & Savory, providing visitors and locals the chance to taste their way through the city. Each week of the month will feature a new sweet or savory option at participating restaurants. In addition, Julian will host pairings, meet the chef and meet the roaster events. Various family dining specials and “dine and stay” specials will allow visitors to enjoy the mountain town and its cuisine. For families, there will be a kids recipe contest, where winners can build a pizza and have it featured on the menu.

dineL.A. Restaurant Week is a 15-day dining event that takes place twice a year and showcases Los Angeles as a premier dining destination. Enjoy some of Los Angeles’s premier culinary hot spots with prix fixe lunch and dinner menus at participating restaurants.

Crab Feast Mendocino

Join the festivities at Crab Feast Mendocino, a 10-day extravaganza of events dedicated to Mendocino’s favorite crustacean - the crab! Get Hooked Restaurant Week
January 20-27

Get Hooked is a celebration of Monterey Bay's fishing community and the culinary scene. Participating restaurants will feature dishes that showcase the local, seasonal abundance of what is sustainably harvested in the coastal waters. During Get Hooked, diners are encouraged to try species they may be unfamiliar with and, most importantly, get connected with the people behind the products - the tenacious fishermen and women who catch the meals.

Napa Valley Restaurant Week
January 26-February 1

Napa Valley Restaurant Week enables locals and visitors to dine and delight throughout the valley and experience the legendary food and wine culture. Through multi-course prix fixe menus for lunch ($20 or $30) and dinner ($38 or $48), guests can try out the latest culinary hot-spots or revisit old favorites all week long. Newport Beach Restaurant Week
January 13-26

Newport Beach Restaurant Week returns as Orange County’s longest-standing restaurant week, entering its 14th year. The event showcases Newport Beach as Orange County’s premier dining destination, offering diners a wide variety of culinary experiences. Participating restaurants will offer special, two- or three-course, prix fixe menus with weekend brunch available for just $15-$20, lunches for $10-$25, and dinners for $20-$50.

Oakland Restaurant Week 2020
January 9-20

California foodies are marking their calendars as Oakland Restaurant Week will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with special events and delicious menus. To celebrate the anniversary, Oakland will offer special events such as Oakland chef cook-offs, progressive dinners in Oakland's neighborhoods, intimate chef dinners, food tours, cooking classes, farmers' markets and tours of urban gardens.

Cheeseburger Week in Pasadena
January 26-31

Celebrate “Cheeseburger Week” in the home of the Cheeseburger - Pasadena, CA. Forty burger purveyors will take part with special offerings, signature meals and deals to honor Lionel Sternberger's 1924 culinary innovation - putting cheese on a burger - at the Rite Spot in Pasadena.

Placer Citrus Restaurant Week

Rancho Cordova Restaurant Week promotes its growing community by showcasing suburban affordability, agricultural bounty and diverse flavors.

San Diego Restaurant Week
January 19-26

For one week only, over 180 participating restaurants throughout San Diego County will offer three-course prix-fixe dinner menus for $20, $30, $40 or $50 per person and/or two-course prix-fixe lunch menus for $10, $15 or $20 per person. Participating restaurants span from the South Bay to East County to the borders of Oceanside and Fallbrook in northern San Diego County, touching on all cuisine types and cravings. SF Restaurant Week
January 22-31

More than 130 restaurants around San Francisco will offer special priced, multi-course lunch and dinner menus this year for SF Restaurant Week. San Jose Restaurant Week

Dine Out Santa Maria Style

The Santa Maria Valley is starting 2020 with #SantaMariaStyle, chock-full of participation from local and loved restaurants, wineries and breweries. Each participating location will offer a special for $20.20, including everything from wine pairings to tastings and special menu items as a part of Dine Out Santa Maria Style.

Santa Monica Restaurant Week
January 6-12

When the holidays wind down and healthy resolutions emerge in January, Santa Monica Travel & Tourism is set to pay homage to the city’s healthy lifestyle and culinary scene with Santa Monica Restaurant Week. Participating restaurants throughout the city will each craft healthy, custom dishes, all centered around this year's special ingredient - the kumquat. The golden orange kumquat, with its sweet edible peel and tart flesh, is found readily at Santa Monica Farmers Markets during the winter months.

Santa Ynez Valley Restaurant Weeks
January 19-31

During Santa Ynez Valley Restaurant Week, participating restaurants will offer three-course tasting menus for $20.20, excluding tax and tip. In addition to Santa Ynez Valley restaurants, many tasting rooms and wineries are also offering special wine and small bite pairings for $20.20. On top of the culinary delights, hotels will offer special pricing for overnight accommodations throughout the two weeks.

SLO CAL Restaurant Month

Indulge in SLO CAL Restaurant Month starting January 1-31, 2020! Over 50 participating restaurants will offer special prix-fixe menus of three courses at $30-$40 per person as well as additional special offerings throughout the entire month.

Delicious Sonoma
January 1-31

Sonoma Valley may be the birthplace of premium California winemaking and home to more than 100 wineries open to the public, but it is also known for its emphasis on approachable, fresh food from local farms served without pretension. Tuolumne County Restaurant Week

Tuolumne County Restaurant Week, a celebration of local cuisine, chefs, wine- and cider-makers, and food producers, invites locals and visitors alike to share the bounty of Tuolumne County. Visit 29 Palms will host its first-ever Dine in 29 Restaurant Week this January as part of California Restaurant Month. Visitors can enjoy a nine-day celebration of the diverse culinary scene including new restaurants, menus and dining experiences in Twentynine Palms. The 20+ restaurants in Twentynine Palms offer an exciting culinary adventure for all tastes and ages.
