The New Normal New Year's Eve

Across California, restaurants and hotels are offering special New Year’s Eve experiences to ring in 2021 in a safe, responsible way. Please check individual websites for additional information, including pricing and how to book.

DINING EXPERIENCES

New Year’s Eve at the Doorstep of Yosemite
This year, Erna’s Elderberry House Restaurant at Chateau du Sureau is hosting a seven-course dinner with the theme of “To the Future,”prepared by Executive Chef Rob Snyder with two reserved seating times. At nearby Bass Lake, The Pines Resort is hosting an intimate four-course dinner with limited seating, and a private fireworks show exclusively for resort guests. There will be plenty of space for social distancing.

Outdoor Tent Dining at the Lights at Cambria Pines Lodge
Throughout the holiday season, including New Year’s Eve, Cambria Pines Lodge will host guests for a casual dinner and access to the Lights at Cambria Pines. Guests will have the table from 4:30 to 9 p.m. and the lights will be on from 5 to 9 p.m. Reservations can be made for groups of four or eight people.  Masks and social distancing are required.

New Years Five-Course Dinner at Brasserie SLO 
Brasserie SLO, located at Hotel Cerro, is offering a French-inspired five-course meal on New Year’s Eve from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $95 before tax and guests can choose from two to three options for each course. Brasserie SLO currently offers outdoor dining on the Veranda and Mission Fig Patio.

The Ultimate Private Dining Experience for New Year's Eve at Malibu Beach Inn
Guests of Malibu Beach Inn can book a private dining suite and enjoy a specially curated tasting menu for two on the private oceanfront terrace for the ultimate, isolated celebration. The sommelier will pair wines with each course and Mixologist Josh Curtis will handcraft cocktails – all served in a manner consistent with the requirements of social distancing. Reservations are required 72 hours in advance.

New Year’s Eve at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel
Chef Richard Sandoval of RAYA will usher in 2021 with a pan-Latin meal and Champagne toast. Tickets are $150 per guest, and seatings are available at 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Details are available online and reservations can be made by calling (949) 240-2000. The dinner will take place outdoors.


VIRTUAL CELEBRATIONS

Virtual New Year's Eve Grape Drop in Temecula

This year Temecula Valley is inviting the public to ring in 2021 from the comfort of their home with a concert at 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on Facebook @TemeculaParkandRec. The virtual grape drop countdown will occur at both 9 p.m. and midnight. A bottle of Temecula Valley wine is encouraged to accompany viewing!

Virtual Concerts at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo
Cuesta College is offering two previously recorded virtual concerts available for viewers to enjoy on New Year’s Eve. “ARCHIVED: Unmasked at Home, The Virtual Faculty Concert” features the musical talents of the Cuesta College Music Faculty, who took off their masks in the safety of their own homes. “ARCHIVED: 12th Annual Cuesta Guitar Concert” includes a mix of music and features four renowned artists. Tickets will raise funds for the college’s Performing Arts Center Theater and future programs.


SPECIAL EVENTS AND OFFERINGS

New Year's Eve at The Cliffs Hotel and Spa in SLO CAL 

The Cliffs Hotel and Spa is offering safe, fun New Year’s Eve options this year including Noon Year’s Eve Firepit Celebration (all ages) and New Year’s Eve Oceanfront Firepit Experience (21 and over). The property is also offering a New Year’s Eve Under the Stars Room Package including ocean- and pool-view rooms with music at the pool, encouraging people to celebrate together but from the safety of their private balconies. Terranea Resort Reimagines New Year's Eve Celebrations
Terranea is offering gourmet meals to-go for guests to enjoy on their private patio while overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The property is also offering reservations for a Private Mandala Painting Session with a wellness guide or a Mandala Painting Kit to-go to set intentions and welcome the New Year. Families are encouraged to pick up a Kids Club Activity Box or order online for endless hours of entertainment the family can enjoy in-room or accompanied by a s’mores kit at one of the resort’s 228 fireplaces.
