Fourth of July Celebrations are Back

As the first major holiday following the state’s lifting of COVID-19 mandates and restrictions, California is ready to celebrate the 4th of July in a big way. Below is a sampling of some of the unique events taking place as the state officially welcomes back visitors.

Head to Weaverville – the gateway to the Trinity Alps - for an old-time 4th of July Celebration July 1-with activities including an axe throwing contest, barrel racing, bull riding championship, and fireworks on the 3rd. Then wake-up on the 4th with the historic Anvil Firing at 6am followed by a pancake breakfast and parade. At the museum, visitors can enjoy historic demonstrations at the Blacksmith Shop, Stampmill, and Sawmill. The holiday weekend culminates with a crowd-pleasing destruction derby and mud races.

Placer County 4th of July
Uniquely situated along Interstate 80, Placer County encompasses a wide variety of unique places in northern California, several of which are hosting events this Independence Day. For those interested in celebrating all weekend long, Colfax will be decorating the streets with their annual parade and evening firework show on Saturday, July 3. Roseville will host their annual 4th of July Celebration with activities for families, a morning parade, and evening fireworks @thegrounds. Lincoln will host a community-wide event at McBean Park, complete with a fireworks display for all to experience. In Auburn, enjoy a Pancake Breakfast in Old Town, followed by a parade before heading to the Fairgrounds for live music, vendors and fireworks.

4th of July Events in Tuolumne County

Tuolumne County in Northern California will kick off the 4th of July weekend early with the Mother Lode Fair July 1-4 in Sonora. Visitors will enjoy the special exhibits, live music, midway carnival rides, motorized sports, junior livestock auctions, contests, and delicious food. Just a bit down the road, Jamestown will host a free 4th of July Block Party with family-friendly games, face painting, food, bounce house, and live music from 4 to 9 p.m.

 

Morgan Hill’s “Freedom Festival”

Morgan Hill’s annual Freedom Festival has had continuous July 4th celebrations since 1876 and stands out as one of the SF Bay Area cities that have a full roster of events surrounding the 4th of July. Events include the popular "Patriotic Sing" at the downtown amphitheater, the Freedom Run, a family-friendly street dance festival, the Cruise and Car Show, and crowning jewels – the award-winning parade and a spectacular Fireworks on the Green. The year 2021 will mark the parade’s 146th annual procession in Morgan Hill

 

All-American Celebration in Visalia

Visalia is commemorating America’s birthday with an all-American celebration featuring a long weekend of baseball, national parks and family fun. Celebrate with America’s pastime and the Visalia Rawhide Baseball Club as the affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks mark the holiday on July 3 with a fireworks finale after the game. Though fireworks aren't allowed in Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks, you’ll still hear oohs and aahs as you take in the amazing sights from the General Sherman Tree to deep below the ground in Crystal Cave. Sequoia Springs Splash Park is a cool spot for family holiday fun with water slides, go-karts, mini-golf, bumper boats, and more. 95th AmericaFest at the Rose Bowl Stadium – Celebrating America’s Perseverance

Recognized as one of the nation’s largest and longest running shows to celebrate America’s birthday, the Rose Bowl Stadium will host its 95th Annual July 4th Celebration on Sunday, July 4, 2021. The theme of this year’s annual celebration is “95th AmericaFest – Celebrating America’s Perseverance.” This year’s event will be a party to welcome all of Pasadena and beyond back to events at America’s Stadium. The event will highlight the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the recent landing of NASA’s Perseverance Rover. The evening will also feature an hour-long, musical performance by American soul singer, Mendelyev, who is best known for having been a contender on NBC’s popular reality singing competition, The Voice. This year’s event program will include a fan-favorite, TNT Freestyle Motocross with a thrilling, high-flying, high-energy thirty-minute show.

 

Ferris Wheel To Shine Like a Beacon with A 130-Ft Tall American Flag in Santa Monica

Pacific Park’s ferris wheel will shine like a beacon on the pier in the Santa Monica sky for the Fourth of July celebration with a spectacular display of patriotic red, white and blue colors, patterns, and transitions.
