Comic-Con International: San Diego takes over the San Diego Convention Center and its environs for four days in July, reveling in all things sci-fi, horror and fantasy. Panels with Hollywood A-listers, seminars, workshops, autograph sessions, film previews and screenings, gaming and portfolio review sessions for budding artists and writers are all part of the mix, as well as a huge lineup of exhibitors with toys, art and collectibles.
Evening events include a masquerade ball and costume contest along with an awards ceremony honoring legends of the industry. Scoring a pass to Comic-Con can require some superhero-like persistence though, as they sell out in about 12 parsecs.
Whether a long-time collector of comic books or simply looking for a creative outlet, this San Diego event will leave attendees delighted and inspired.
