California Pride Festivals

Statewide | Year-round

California remains a leader when it comes to inclusivity and equal rights, historically spearheaded by leaders like Harvey Milk.

Not surprisingly, the Golden State is home to some of the world’s most extravagant LGBTQ+ Pride Celebrations. The biggest takes place in San Francisco and is held the last full weekend in June, featuring a celebrity grand marshal, top-name musical entertainment and family friendly activities.

Two of the nation’s other largest Pride celebrations take place in Southern California: Los Angeles Pride (early June) and San Diego Pride Parade and Festival (mid-July). The L.A. Pride party is in West Hollywood, offering an array of activities and programming, including performance stages dedicated to Latin music and hip-hop, while San Diego goes all out with musical entertainment on five stages as part of the city’s biggest civic event. On a mission to educate, celebrate, commemorate and liberate, other Pride gatherings in the Golden State include Palm Springs (early November), Long Beach (mid-May), Pasadena (mid-October), Santa Barbara (August), Santa Cruz (early June), Fresno (early June), Sacramento (early June), and Eureka (September).
