Nothing reflects that spirit more than the Festival of Arts, which runs annually from July through August and features a lineup of more than 100 juried artists, workshops and classes for both kids and adults, concerts, a fashion show, and live demonstrations of painting and sculpting. What really puts the Festival of Arts in a class by itself, though, is the Pageant of the Masters, the centerpiece of the festival since 1933.
It’s a truly one-of-a-kind, 90-minute show that recreates classic and contemporary paintings using an army of volunteers. It’s part performance art and part theatrical illusion, complete with original music and narration that brings the paintings to life.
